The Omega at the End of Time

Time is warped by increasing technological change. As time speeds up, the possibility of encountering phase transitions increases.

At certain times, phase transitions take place in complex systems that evolve the system to a new level of complexity. Actually, the term evolution is slightly misleading because the old system is replaced by a new system with greater complexity and new features. This is rebirth or new life.

Complexity is recognised as the efficiency gradient of the system.

There are two types of systems; those that are open and self organising and those that are closed and hierarchical.

Closed hierarchical systems are always challenged by scale or complexity. Google has encountered the limit of scale. The Google is not a googol, it cannot scale to infinity, and neither can governments.

Current forms of hierarchical control cannot survive where complexity is taking us.

Tao will triumph Phi. Like Omega, Tao, is not a closed circle when drawn in a single plane.

If imagined on a 3D multi dimensional plane, as represented by the Yin Yang, Tao is cosmic superimposition as described in detail by Wilhelm Reich. The circle within the circle represents the fractal recursive nature of the life force.

Omega represents the potential for a closed system to crash in relation to computer programming, but Omega looks like an open system. In relation to the Alpha and the Omega, the Omega is supposedly at the end. Intuitively, the openness of Omega compared with the closed form of Alpha would seem to suggest that it should be at the beginning.

Omega looks the same as the Mamoli fertility symbol from Sumba, an island in the Indonesian Archipelago of Indonesia.

Also of interest are the symbols next to Tlaloc, the Aztec god of fertility.

The geometry of the open circle is represented by the Enneagram. The Enneagram has 9 points of reference in an open ended circle. 9 is where you find 12 on a 12 hour clock. 9 on the Enneagram represents change.

The Enneagram represents the changes experienced in human cultures that are in flux. We are now in the 11th hour or just before midnight. Lord Pacal Votan, the great Aztec said that it is darkest before dawn. Obviously, with his knowledge of time, he knew that it was darkest just before midnight i.e. just before the sun is directly opposite the point of the observer on the planet. When it is darkest is also when the Gods of the Dead are most active, those being Mott, Osiris, Pluto and Mictecacihuatl, depending on your cultural preference. The time of these gods is thick with blood, skeletons, death and dread.

In geometry you start with a point (1). You then draw a line to a second point (2); now use your protractor to draw a circle using the 2 points of reference. Inside the circle, draw out a square (4) and a triangle (3). So point to point (2) + the triangle (3) + the square (4) = 9. The pyramid sits on a square base with triangular sides. You can be sure that the square was squared out in the confines of a circle. So the 3D pyramid is represented by 9 and it emerged out of 1 and is confined by the circle. 11 is 9 confined by 1 & 1 or 2 or to put it another way, 9+1+1= 11, or another 9 11.

The pyramid could also be viewed as 7, secret or hidden 7 or 7 of wisdom. The secret lies in the single line, point to point or 2. A point gives birth to a straight line (1 dimension). The straight line gives life to a triangle and a square (2 dimensions). The triangle and square give life to the pyramid (3 dimensions). The 4th dimension of time gives life to change. Change can be represented in cycles. Open circles offer potentiality. Tao is an open circle; Tao is Omega; Omega offers the opportunity for pregnancy. Pregnancy takes place through the vagina or the Tao or the Omega. Pregnancy brings new life.

The emergence of a new system out of an old system is the akin to birth or rebirth. The lizard sheds its skin, the butterfly emerges from the cocoon and today on planet earth a new system is emerging out of an old one. What that new system look like is yet to be determined but the one thing we can be sure of is the Omega will triumph.

    The Carbon Debate

In Australia at least, it appears that we are about to get a carbon tax. The carbon tax is effectively a way of puting a price on carbon to influence personal and business behaviour in the Australian marketplace. The expectation is that the price on carbon will shift energy consumption away from fossil fuels toward clean energy alternatives such as solar and wind.

Unfortunately there is a significant amount of politics involved and we can be sure that the cost will not necessarily be borne by the fossil fuel industry. Already, there is talk of significant concessions to the fossil fuel industry and this will certainly skew the burden away from those who should be burdened and onto the man on the street.

Ultimately, carbon is not the culprit, carbon is merely a by product of human activity on the planet and it is that human activity that is directly responsible for global warming. There are probably a  miriad of other factors that are also driving global warming including deforestation, the building of cities and roads and even war and conflict.

From a positive perspective, Australia could lead the way in demonstrating that a carbon price is a great way to modify behaviour and incentivise the adoption of efficient, clean energy consumption. From a negative perspective, it is possible that pricing carbon creates a fantastic new product for the global trading merket to profit from.

As we become more aware of the impacts of our behaviours and adopt new, efficient lifestyles we should be able to overcome the negative impact that we've had on the environment to date.

At Scale Everything Breaks - Google

How big can government get? Could we expect a global government to emerge in the next decade out of the United Nations? As much as this might be planned for, it is instructive to see what Google has discovered about operating at scale.

Behind the scenes, Google is fighting a constant battle against the twin demons of cascading failovers and the increasingly challenging levels of complexity that massively scaled services bring. ‘At scale, everything breaks, and Google must walk a tightrope between increasing the scaling of its systems while avoiding cascading failovers, such as the outage that affected Gmail Read On

LulzSec and Anonymous join Forces for Operation #AntiSec

Don't worry about the clash of civilisations between East & West, here is the real deal! I reported on the start of World War 3 here and now notice that the war has ratcheted up a notch with the start of a joint Freedom Operation .

This is a typical guerrilla war, with significant asymeteries. On the one side we have the historical command & control structure backed up by big money and protected by a military industrial complex. On the other side we have an emerging organism without a centralised command structure and sharing a common bond of a desire for freedom.

To place this in context, the efforts of Anonymous appear to have been a little like a fly anoying an elephant. This is not to say that the balance of power cannot shift because big things can emerge from small things, a huge tree can grow from a seed.

The future is indeed interesting, especially where the Internet and freedom is concerned.
