In the zone - Asian economic time zone shared by WA

An interesting comparison of the rise of China & India compared with the West & Japan.

If this analysis is correct, expect WA to benefit significantly as we share a common economic/time zone.

Our energy future

If you read the newspapers you'll notice that there is almost a constant dialogue surrounding carbon trading and the politics of carbon trading. The reason for carbon trading being such a big news item is that the term is shorthand for 'more expensive energy in the future'.

At the same time that we get hit with some sort of carbon trading cost, we are also facing peak oil being that particular slice of history where incremental supplies of carbon fuels and products will be harder to tap from the earth's crust. Now there are new, cleaner greener sources of energy coming on stream including solar and there is evidence that global growth has decoupled from fossil fuel needs to some extent but the big question is, 'will clean tech come on fast enough to save the day'?

For a civilisation dependent on cheap reliable energy, we are rapidly entering that zone where a failure to bridge successfully to a 'post carbon world' may render us 'failed'.

Lubrication oil and fuel filtration - breaking the acid cycle by removing moisture-in-emulsion and replacing 1930's technology....

Winchester Global PL through its oil filter product ProtxL ( protects all ) addresses the fundamental issues of machine availability, performance and extended service life. These issues largely are a function of moisture-in-emulsion and particulate contamination of lubrication oils and fuel. ProtxL removes 100% of moisture-in-emulsion and particulate contamination above 3 micron. It breaks the acid cycle within engines by ensuring both lubrication oils and diesel fuel are “clean and dry.” Very significant machine service and maintenance cost savings of 50% are readily available when procurement policy requires that all engines, gear boxes and hydraulic systems must be supplied with oil filtration that perform to better than Nas6 Standard and that all fuel filtration must perform to Euro 5 Standard. This does not void OEM warranty and existing machinery can be retro fitted and still achieve a 50% net service cost saving. Extending oil replacement intervals from traditional 250 hour out to 5,500 hours reduces waste oil by a factor of up to 20, a significant environmental improvement beyond those of optimum fuel efficiency and maintaining new engine emission standards. This product epitomizes the desired “triple bottom line.” Winchester Global aims to improve the entire world inventory of engines, gensets and turbines and the company is always willin to talk with prospective clients and possibly “partners” being groups that can not only supply a capital injection but has the industry contacts and political connections to ensure this product goes global, not only for the success of the company and the benefits to the clients but also for the health and welfare of the planet. If this is of any interest interest please contact Jonathan Shack for an introduction to Winchester Global and its product, ProtxL.

Pilbara city to rise in the north

There appears to be a push coming from the liberal government to establish a city in the Pilbara.

At the opening of the Zone Conference in Perth at the University of Western Australia, Premier Colin Barnett commented that it would be unacceptable not to develop the north west of the state.

It seems that big corporates like BHP & Rio Tinto are keen to have services closer to all their mining action. The state government is chasing the federal government for a prepayment to kick start the project.

Ken Perry, managing director of Brandrill Ltd has prepared a discussion paper on the matter suggesting that there should be plans put in place to develop a city to be home for 1 million people.

The deputy managing director of CITC Pacific said that his company is building a giant desalination plant capable of producing 51 gigalitres is expected to produce 25% excess water. This excess water will be available to any major human population that emerges in the area.

How a 'shared vision' can impact our future in Western Australia

If you've ever considered how a positive or negative outlook impacts your reality, consider how a shared group outlook on the future can impact the reality of a state or nation.

Howard Bloom, author of Global Brain, has just released a new book, entitled Genius of the Beast where he explores 'group think' in relation to potential futures for the United States. The book draws on serious scientific research. Giving America a Vision Implant—Crayfish, Neurochemicals and the Future of Your Civilization

What is the 'shared vision' that we have in Western Australia?
